Bio - Alexander (aka Sandy) Wakeling - Director

Sandy has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Carleton University in Ottawa and post graduate training in Corporate Communications from Fanshawe in London, Ontario. Sandy has held a number of contract positions providing community relations assistance to BC Hydro, the BC Medical Association, Fraser Health and former Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows MLA Ken Stewart. For the past two and a half years, Sandy has served as the Marketing and Communications Director for Meadowridge School in Maple Ridge.

Sandy has been an active community volunteer, having served on the organizing committees for Pitt Meadows Day and the Terry Fox Run, the board of the Friends in Need Food Bank, the Spirit of BC Community Olympic Committee and the Ridge Meadows Child, Youth and Family Network. He recently completed a five year term as chair of the Pitt Meadows Economic Development Advisory Committee, and sat as a member of the Pitt Meadows Official Community Plan Review Committee. Sandy has been a proud member of the Chamber of Commerce for over six years.

Sandy and his wife Ali, a teacher at Pitt Meadows Elementary, reside in Pitt Meadows with their two boys, William age 5 and Sebastien age 3. The family has lived in the community for over eight years.
