• Corisa Bell

  • Corisa is a sixth generation Maple Ridge resident. Balancing the history of our community and at the same time being progressive in order to be prepared for the future is important to her.  Corisa graduated from high school with Honours and was awarded a law scholarship. She attended the University of the Fraser Valley until her and her partner took a risk on the World Wide Web.  In a joint partnership she started an e-commerce software company which resulted in millions of dollars in sales and she is looking forward to returning to her entrepreneurial roots once again. An exceptional hard worker, her new consulting adventure, Corisa Bell Management Solutions Incorporated, will truly highlight her skill set and find her continuing  to do what she loves; helping people by reducing frustration and improving the overall quality of life for society.  Corisa is a natural at helping people navigate the political system to all levels of government. She was elected 2 times as Lower Mainland Local Government Association President which was a new precedent. Upon her retirement she was given the Life Member award.  She has a passion for communication and during this time she had the opportunity to directly negotiate the needs of local government to the Province.

This Mother of two has 2 successful terms on Maple Ridge City Council under her belt.  And understands the framework  and challenges that businesses face locally when seeking success. She looks forward to listening to and advocating on their behalf.

Known for her passion in advocacy she is excited  to be part of strengthening the voice of small business. Bringing together and engaging the business community, working with City Hall to address Maple Ridge's high business tax, working with the Province to highlight business license road blocks, reviewing Insurance requirements for home based businesses and helping to find ways to encourage businesses to manage their waste thoughtfully are just some of her goals.

Corisa only knows how to give 150% and can't wait to get involved with the BC Chamber of Commerce.  She looks forward to bringing her strong voice to the table to represent business in BC.  Passionate and dedicated,  to everything she takes on in her life, Corisa is excited to  bring her high level of energy, expertise and experience to the Chamber! She really looks forward to connecting and working with the Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows business community!

Corisa embodies the following quote and even has it tattooed on her back,  "We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our Children". - Wendell Berry

"It isn’t just a reflection of our physical environment, it also refers to a responsibility we have to ensure how our society will function long term. Our choices affect future generations on so many levels. We cannot continue to think and act in a singular fashion, and the time to embrace this is long overdue.”
